Information Collection and Use

Prudentialife collects information from our web site visitors, both Planholders and non-Planholders alike at several points on our site. Customer information is information such as name, address, telephone number, and credit card details (during payment transactions) - information that identifies a particular individual or business. Except for credit card details which we do not store and instead directly go to the secure server of our online payment partner, Prudentialife collects and stores Customer information in the following ways:

Registration

As part of registration for Prudentialife’s services, user must provide user name, password, name, home address, telephone number (s), gender, birth date and email address and if you opt to register as Planholder to be able to access Planholder Services Page, additional details regarding your plan. The username and password are used to make sure that only Prudentialife planholder and customers are able to access certain member-only services.
The contact information will be used to contact you about the services on our site for which you have expressed interest. You are not required to provide demographic information (income, Internet usage and number of children, and unique identifiers (such as social security number), but we encourage it so we can provide you a more personalized experience on our site.

Feedback forms

In this web site, several email forms allowing visitors to contact us regarding customer service, product information, general information, newsletters and web site feedback are included. The information you provide in these forms including your name, phone numbers, plan contract no. and email address shall be utilized for purposes of contacting you in order to satisfy your request/s.

Online Plan Application

If you purchase any of our pre-need plans online: we collect intensive personal information on you as a Planholder(s), on your Beneficiary/(ies), Scholar(s), and Co-Planholder(s). We use this information to verify your application and to satisfy our requirements for plan purchases. We also get financial information like credit card number, expiration date, and credit card security pin for online payment of plans. If we have trouble processing the application, we will get in touch with you through the contact information provided in the forms. Online purchase transactions are secured via SSL (see our Security Policy). Except for Auto-Charge Arrangement type of payment, Credit Card Information such as credit card numbers will go directly to our payment partner's server for validation and approval and these are not in anyway, saved in our database.

Information Sharing and Disclosure

• Prudentialife is the sole owner of the information collected on this site. Prudentialife shares customer information collected in this site with the companies belonging to the Prudentialife Group. Prudentialife shall not sell, share, or rent this information to non-affiliated third parties in ways different from what is disclosed in this statement.
  
  
• We provide some information to companies that perform certain functions for us - for example, credit card numbers are sent to a credit card processing company for billing, and address information is given to a fulfillment company that sends out Contract Policies and Certificates of Full Payment. These companies are authorized to use this information only for the expressed purpose of completing Prudentialife business and are not authorized to release this information to other third parties.

Cookies

A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user’s hard drive containing information about the user. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information while on our site. Once the user closes his browser, the cookie simply terminates. If a user rejects the cookie, they may still use our site. The only drawback to this is that the user will be limited to some areas of our site. If a user wishes to subscribe to our newsletter, we ask for contact information such as name and email address.

From time-to-time our site requests information from users via surveys or contests. Participation in these surveys or contests is completely voluntary and the user therefore has a choice whether or not to disclose the information requested. Information requested may include contact information (such as name and shipping address), and demographic information (such as zip code, age level). Tell-A-Friend / Referral Program

If a user elects to use our referral service for informing a friend about our site, we ask them for the friend’s name and email address. Prudentialife will automatically send the friend a one-time email inviting them to visit the site. Prudentialife stores this information for the sole purpose of sending this one-time email. The friend may contact us at eservices@prudentialife.com to request the removal of this information from our database.

Prudentialife will not tolerate the sending of unsolicited commercial email ("spam"). You may refer only persons with whom you have established personal or business relationship and who you believe would be interested in Prudentialife products and services.

Supplementation of Information

In order for this website to properly fulfill its obligation to our Customers, it is necessary for us to supplement the information we receive with information from 3rd party sources.

In order for this website to enhance its ability to tailor the site to an individual’s preference, we combine information about the purchasing habits of users with similar information from our partners, Company Y & Company Z, to create a personalized user profile. When a user makes a purchase from either of these two companies, the companies collect and share that purchase information with us so we can tailor the site to our users’ preferences.

Special Offers

We send all new members a welcoming email to verify password and username. Established members occasionally receive information on products, services, special deals, and a newsletter. Out of respect for the privacy of our users we present the option to not receive these types of communications. Please see our choice and opt-out below.

Site and Service Updates

We also send user site and service announcement updates that contain important information about the services we offer. These announcements will only be sent to users who have expressed interest in receiving such information during the registration process or those who specifically request such services. Your activity in this website will not result in your being added to our mailing list unless you request us to do so.
